A collaborative platform dedicated to dry stone

This platform aims at promoting and networking initiatives on dry stone technique and heritage.

The platform is open to professionals, local authorities, associations, and any citizens who wish to learn more or get involved!

The objectives

  • Identify

    projects, initiatives and stakeholders in the field of dry stone

  • Promote

    ambassadors trained through the MOOC of the project European Carrefour for the Art of Dry Stone Building

  • Encourage

    exchanges and collaborations at local and European levels

  • Contribute

    to the transmitting know-how recognized as intangible cultural heritage.

A constantly evolving tool

The map was originally created to address a lack of visibility for dry stone-related activities in the South Region (France), identified during the European LEADER project for the exchange of expertise, carried out in cooperation between GAL Ventoux and LAG on the island of Brač (Croatia), and coordinated by Volubilis.

Initially focused on organizations, the platform evolved with the rollout of the Erasmus+ project “European Carrefour for the Art of Dry Stone Building”.

The integration of dry stone ambassadors, trained via the MOOC, marks a key milestone: that of opening up to citizen engagement and the wider dissemination of knowledge.
