Knowledge on dry stone involves research, inventory of the heritage and documentation, as well as sharing knowledge through training.

Huts: 130 huts identified to date, mapping, condition assessment, restoration
Terrace retaining walls: restoration
Water systems: identification, mapping, restoration

Work sites: since 2017, enthusiastic volunteers have been meeting once or twice a week to rebuild dry stone structures, with the main focus on retaining walls.
Village centre: creation of a square by constructing a cobbled path

Restoration

The objective of dry stone restoration is to preserve and rehabilitate these ancestral constructions, ensuring their integrity and durability.

Promotion

The promotion of dry stone involves sharing its cultural and historical richness with the public through various means of communication and education.

Discovery:
– Marking and signposting of three discovery trails featuring numerous huts and terraces (available on the municipal website: patrimoine-malemort.fr)
– organisation of storytelling or musical walks

Collaboration with several organisations:
– OPUS-APARE for international youth volunteer projects and Erasmus+ operations
– VOLUBILIS and Pierre Sèche en Vaucluse for an exchange of expertise with Croatia in 2022 and support for our water systems project
– organisation of training courses for volunteers
